Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Dennis, a SAG-AFTRA actor and the founder of actorlooks. I built actorlooks because actors are constantly asked to show range — doctor, lawyer, detective, athlete, teacher, romantic lead, villain, and more — but getting new headshots for every casting type can be expensive, time-consuming, and honestly overwhelming. actorlooks helps actors create cinematic, casting-inspired looks from their existing headshot and selfie, giving them more visual range for their portfolio, marketing, social media, and conversations with reps. This started from a real acting-career need: my own agent asked me for different “looks,” and after creating them, I started getting stronger opportunities and clearer positioning. I realized other actors could benefit from the same thing. My goal is not to replace photographers or real headshots. It is to give working actors, new actors, and financially stretched performers another tool to see themselves in more roles, market themselves better, and move with more confidence. I’m excited, nervous, and proud to launch actorlooks here today. How well does it handle different ethnicities and skin tones when generating the photos? Curious if the training data is diverse enough to avoid weird artifacts or washing people out.

@rseybek97138 Great question — this was a huge priority for me as an actor building this for other actors. actorlooks is designed to preserve skin tone, facial structure, hair texture, and identity rather than ‘beautify’ or standardize people. We’ve tested across a range of complexions and backgrounds, and I’m actively using real feedback to catch anything like washing out, over-smoothing, or artifacts. Representation matters a lot here, so I’d rather hear about any issue directly and fix it.
