Hey guys! I'm the developer/founder of ActionAlly! Really excited to see it here on ProductHunt and happy to answer any questions. ActionAlly has had a big impact on my effectiveness and quality of life since it got to a usable point in development this past September and I'd love to see how it impacts your work as well.

@nickyhajal IMO you should have a freemium model so both free and premium versions, rather than free trial and paid app.

Thanks @tzhongg! I've definitely thought about it so I may at least try it as an experiment. Let me know if you have any other thoughts!

hey @nickyhajal Good job with ActionAlly! I've tried it couple of days ago and I liked it. I might give it a try in production soon. Also, I love the design's website.

This is a great idea and it's really well executed. Nice work, @NickyHajal! One thing I'd like to see before I become a paying customer is a sleek and simple mobile app to accompany it. I often think of things I want to get done when I'm not sitting at my computer and I'll forget them if I can't add them to my to-do list right then. Once ActionAlly adds this feature, I'm in. UPDATE WITH MORE FEEDBACK: 1) I've tried adding websites to my list of distractions in the settings, but this feature seems to be broken. I can't add anything to the list. 2) The colors used in the app are about as bland as they could possibly be. When I'm completing tasks, I want to feel excited and burnt orange and a very saturated forest green just don't do it for me. ActionAlly would benefit if it used colors that made its users feel energetic and motivated. Here's a good place to learn more about color theory: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/....

Hey @maxwendkos! Thanks for the feedback! Mobile app: I have thought a bit about a mobile app for ActionAlly but what I'd say is that it really isn't meant to be a task capture tool. There are tons of apps like Catch or Evernote that are great for that. ActionAlly is meant to help you stay focused on *your most important daily tasks* within the context of your computer. Distraction site bug: Pushing an update soon! Colors: The idea of the calming color-scheme is that this is an app you'll use constantly throughout the day, every day and I don't want it to be harsh at all. That being said, people have lots of color preferences so expect color scheme support coming soon :) Big thanks for trying ActionAlly and for your feedback along the way!

@nickyhajal Thanks for your response, Nicky. Great point on people having different color preferences. Excited to hear that you'll be supporting color schemes. Re: a mobile app, I agree with your thinking about the product's purpose, but I actually think that's exactly why this *does* need a mobile app. Even if your goal is to help people focus on their most important daily tasks within the context of their desktop/laptop computer, it's still important to ensure that your users are able to enter those tasks into ActionAlly whenever they think of them. By ignoring the importance of a mobile app, you're basically saying "Sorry, but if you don't think of the task while you're sitting in front of your computer, you can't include it in ActionAlly." So this forces your users to do one of three things: 1) Stop whatever they're doing and find their computer (which is hopefully nearby) in order to plug the task into ActionAlly. 2) Cross their fingers and hope that they remember the task whenever they next get back to their computer. 3) Create an entirely separate system for recording tasks so that they'll remember them once they get back to their computer and can then transfer their tasks from the system they've created to ActionAlly. Obviously, none of these three solutions are particularly good. In my opinion, giving your users the ability to add tasks from their phones is the only good way to solve this problem.
