Every surname in your family tree, in order 🍪

Import your family tree (GEDCOM from Ancestry, MyHeritage…) and see every surname you carry, generation by generation. Your tree becomes a family cookie where missing ancestors are bites; compare it with a cousin's, see where your surnames are common today, and share it as a picture, a baking video or a printable poster. No account, no server: your tree stays on your device.

I built this because in Spain everyone has two surnames (one from each parent), so your whole ancestry is a list of surnames that doubles every generation: 2, 4, 8, 16… The app reads a GEDCOM (or Ancestry's zip export), lays that list out in order, and draws the tree as a fan chart I ended up calling a "family cookie", where missing ancestors are bites.
Some technical bits:
No backend. It's a static SvelteKit build on Cloudflare; the tree lives in IndexedDB, encrypted. Sync is optional and goes to the user's own Google Drive (drive.appdata scope), end-to-end encrypted.
Surname statistics for 86,512 surnames from Spain's INE ship as static JSON shards, so lookups need no server either.
The "where would you land" map: each surname pulls you towards the region where its carriers live today; d3-geo with IGN boundaries (es-atlas), and when a surname pulls towards the Canaries, one conic conformal projection turned 30° so they sit where they really are instead of in an inset.
The baking video is encoded in the browser with WebCodecs (mediabunny), and the printable poster is a hand-written PDF.
The Android app is the same code in Capacitor.
It's free with ads (AdSense on the web, AdMob on Android). Happy to answer anything.
