We built 1Server because our MCP config files got out of hand. Every new server meant another JSON block, another token pasted in plaintext, and another client restart. At five servers it was annoying. At ten we were spending more time on plumbing than on the work.

So we built two things that work together:

A curated marketplace. 200+ MCP servers, each hand-reviewed, with its tool specs, the credentials it needs, and a named publisher. Click install and paste your secret once. It’s encrypted before it leaves your browser and stored in an AES-256 vault, never in a config file.

The 1Server engine. It’s a single MCP server that your client connects to. It runs everything you’ve installed and puts all the tools behind one connection, namespaced so nothing collides (github.create_issue, slack.post_message). Your whole config becomes 8 lines:

`npx -y 1server-mcp-engine` + your API key. Restart your client once, and that’s the last restart.

After that:

Hot-reload. Install, remove or toggle a server and the tools show up or disappear mid-conversation.
Self-healing. If a server crashes, the engine reconnects it with backoff and reports its status.
Manage from chat. Your assistant gets 8 meta-tools. Try asking it “find me a Slack MCP server and install it with my saved token.” It just does it.

It works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Codex, Gemini CLI, ChatGPT, Zed, and any other client that speaks MCP.
