Hi Product Hunt, 1M Finance started as a way to learn mobile development. There was no plan beyond that. Then the expense app my cofounder had used for years got discontinued and his data was effectively stranded, so we built an importer. Somewhere in there it stopped being a learning project and became the thing we both open every day. We are both chasing FIRE, so we wanted something that answers "am I actually getting there" rather than just labelling last month's spending. That is where the Sankey cash flow, net worth tracking, currency exposure and savings runway came from. They are the views we wanted for ourselves. The privacy part is not a marketing angle. We both work in engineering at large companies and we have seen how data gets handled at scale. So there are no bank connections and no credentials to hand over. Your transactions stay in a local database on your device, and if you want a backup it goes to your own iCloud or Google Drive, not to us. To be precise about what we do collect: anonymous usage and crash analytics, so we can see which features get opened and what breaks. No transaction, balance or category data is ever part of that. It is free with unlimited transactions, and there is an optional subscription for budgets, forecasts and the heavier analytics. If you are stuck inside another app, tell us which one. We add import formats as people ask for them, and that is exactly how the importer grew in the first place. Fair warning on pace: it is two of us building this around full time jobs, so we move steadily rather than fast. Genuinely curious what people here think, especially anyone who has been burned by an app shutting down with their data inside it.

Finally a budget app that doesn't guilt me into handing over my bank login. The local-only approach with my own iCloud backup feels right, and the sankey view makes spending patterns click in a way pie charts never did.
