Hi Product Hunt!
I'm Harun, and I'm thrilled to introduce Yaha to you. At Yaha, weβre making dining easier with our QR code-based menu ordering system for pickup, table ordering, catering, and room service. Customers can place and pay for orders online, directly from their tables, or from their hotel rooms, reducing wait times and streamlining operations for everyone.
I started Yaha as a weekend project while working my first restaurant job as a student in Canada. The hectic and chaotic nature of restaurant work, especially during busy hours, made me want to find a better way to manage the stress. This experience inspired me to develop a solution that could ease the pressure and streamline operations for everyone involved.
Yaha offers this service for free to all restaurants, with a minimal fee per order covered by the customer. We are already working with several restaurants and hotels in Canada and Kenya, and we are continuously looking to expand our reach.

@harunmohamed
Yaha's QR code-based ordering system offers a promising solution to improve efficiency and customer experience in restaurants. By eliminating the need for physical menus and reducing wait times, Yaha can benefit both restaurant owners and customers.
Key Questions for Yaha:
- Does Yaha integrate with existing point-of-sale (POS) systems for seamless order management?
- Can restaurants customize the menu layout and design to match their branding?
- How does Yaha ensure the security of customer payment information?
Potential for Improvement:
- Implementing a loyalty program could encourage repeat customers and increase customer engagement.
- Providing data insights on customer preferences and ordering habits could help restaurants optimize their menus and operations.
- Integrating with kitchen display systems (KDS) could streamline order fulfillment.
How I Can Help (as a developer):
- I can contribute to integrating Yaha with existing POS systems or developing additional features like order history and customer profiles.
Overall, Yaha has the potential to revolutionize the dining experience. Addressing integration, customization, and data security concerns could further strengthen its value proposition. If relevant to your skills, I'd be happy to discuss how I can contribute to future development.
@chethan_bm Thanks so much, Chethan π Yaha is currently available in Canada & Kenya, but weβre definitely planning to expand to more countries soon. Stay tuned! π
@max_savonin1
Thank you so much for your comprehensive review and thoughtful questions Max. I really appreciate the detailed feedback!
Regarding your questions:
- We have a POS integration with Stripe Terminal scheduled to roll out in the next few months, which will make order management even more seamless.
- Restaurants can definitely customize their branding on Yaha, including their colors and logos. However, we don't offer font customization to maintain consistency in our design and user interfaces.
- For payments, we use Stripe, which employs industry-standard encryption and follows best practices to ensure customer payment information is always protected.
As for your suggestions:
- We provide insights about ordering patterns to restaurants through their Yaha dashboard. I developed an LSTM Recurrent Neural Network for time series forecasting of specific menu items to predict order traffic, which improves as more users order.
- Integrating with kitchen display systems (KDS) is a great idea, and we'll certainly give it some thought.
- A loyalty program is also a fantastic idea. It's something my team has discussed, and we're definitely planning to implement it in the near future.
I'd love to connect on LinkedIn and keep in touch. We can discuss the possibility of working together as opportunities arise.
Thanks again for your review, Max! π
@sheikhirfan10 Thanks, Sheikh! I appreciate the support. For details on our USP and what sets us apart, check out my reply to Glen. It covers how we provide convenience at almost no cost, benefiting both restaurants and customers.
Thanks for your encouragement!
Hey @harunmohamed , although i like the UI and everything, I can't really understand the USP. I understand there's a unique selling point for restaurants but what exactly is in it for the customers? One suggestion I could probably give is to start with discounts, etc. Just check up this Indian based product called Zomato, that's how they grew their food delivery business similar to yours
@glen_dsouza_1 Thanks for your question and the feedback on our UI, Glen. I'm glad you asked about our USP. Yaha's main USP is convenience at almost no cost. Here's why:
One of our key user audiences is working people who order their food in bulk at the start of the week. For example, our most popular restaurant on Yaha, Salaama Hut, is well-known for having the best Samosas and Chapatis in Toronto. Customers often order 20+ of each item, which can take a long time to prepare, especially with high demand. Sometimes, customers wait up to 2 hours at the restaurant for their orders.
Take this real example: a customer just ordered 40 chapatis and 35 samosas while I was writing for $163.75. On other ordering platforms, restaurants might be charged about 30% of the order value, which often gets passed on to the customer, raising the total to potentially $210+ excluding taxes.
With Yaha, the customer paid $163.75 + $3.25 for the order. They receive notifications when their order is being prepared and when it's ready. Plus, they can choose to pick it up later for just $0.75 extra.
What's the secret to our economics? We're a small team, and the little profits we make keep our servers running and buy us some ice coffees to keep grinding. Also, the restaurant receives $163.75 minus the card charges, ensuring they get the maximum benefit.
That's Yaha's USP! π
Hey @harunmohamed, your service looks really great. I can see this helping a lot of local restaurant owners!
Do the restaurants also get a public facing landing page and if SEO is it optimized for local SEO rankings?
Congrats on the launch π
@crebuh Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you find the service valuable for local restaurant owners.
Yes, each restaurant on Yaha has the option for a custom integration on their own domain (like salaamahut.com) or a well-optimized page on Yaha (such as orderyaha.com/r/salaamahut) that they can share with their audiences.
We also provide each restaurant with free printed Yaha QR codes for table ordering and in-store posters to help them promote the service effectively. π

Congrats on the launch, Harun! Yaha sounds like an incredible solution to streamline dining experiences and help restaurants boost their revenue. The QR code-based menu is such a clever way to reduce wait times, especially during peak hours. I love that you started this as a weekend project while juggling your first restaurant job β it really shows the passion and dedication behind the product.
I'm curious about the user experience! Have you considered collecting feedback from the restaurants you're currently working with to enhance features? It's also great to see that you're prioritizing minimal fees for restaurants. That Freemium model could really attract more businesses to try it out!
Looking forward to seeing how Yaha evolves and helps more restaurants thrive. Keep up the amazing work!
@blankwebdev Thank you so much for your kind words! π
Weβre thrilled you find Yaha to be an incredible solution for streamlining dining experiences. We truly value user feedback and actively collect it from the restaurants we work with. As a Software and Machine Learning Engineer, I still work every weekend at the restaurant where we first launched, monitoring user behavior and gathering live feedback.
Sometimes, our most loyal customers approach me with their suggestions, and I love to joke, βCheck next week!β as I implement their ideas in my spare time. Some of the features weβve developed from this feedback include:
- A carousel of the last 5 orders on the userβs homepage, allowing them to reorder with just a couple of clicks.
- A meal rating system so customers can provide feedback directly to the chefs.
- A summary of pending orders on the restaurant dashboard, organized by station, which helps bundle preparation and reduce wait times without compromising quality.
Convenience at almost no cost is our mission, and we aim to keep it as affordable as possible for all our stakeholders.
Thanks again for your support and encouragement! Looking forward to continuing this journey and helping more restaurants thrive.
Hey Harun,
How easy is it for restaurants to get set up and running with Yaha?
Is there a lot of technical know-how required, or have you made it accessible even for less tech-savvy restaurant owners?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin Hi Kyrylo! Thanks for your question and the congrats!
Onboarding with Yaha is as easy as making a decision. Restaurants just need to send us their menu and payment info, and our team will set up a well-designed store for them. Weβll also provide dashboard access and printed QR codes for table and room service ordering.
Weβve made it as simple as possible, even for less tech-savvy restaurant owners.
Thanks again for your support!
