Workona

Transform Chrome into a professional work tool for free

4.9/5
About

Workona is a better way to work in Chrome

We all work in the browser, but it was never built for work. We’re proud to be taking Workona out of beta this week to address the problem and we hope you enjoy the product!

If you want to keep Product Hunt or another extension on your new tab instead of Workona, visit: workona.com/help/use-other-new-tab

I've been using Workona for about a week and it has already transformed by work process. My web browser is jam packed with tabs and keeping them organized is a constant challenge. Rather than try to reduce my tab load or force me to save and come back later, Workona understands I need these tabs open and makes it easy to group tabs together. The workspace concept makes perfect sense and it's easy to arrange tabs into meaningful workspaces. Switching between workspaces is surprisingly fast and simple. This is a must-have browser extension.

Pros:

Managing a ton of tabs, fast tab switching, easy organization

Cons:

None so far

Workona is the perfect alternative to Station, because it gives access to Chrome extensions

Pros:

Great design

Workona has helped me tame the tab explosion that comes from working in web apps all day. I set up workspaces related to projects or responsibilities, so I can pull up an entire set of related tabs at once. This lets me have all my tabs of notes, related material, project plans, etc. at hand without having to dig through Google Drive and Confluence. It's even better when I'm running from meeting to meeting and need to switch from one set of related material to another.

Pros:

Managing tabs, quickly opening tabs for a certain context, dealing with "I might want to look at this later" guilt when closing things

Cons:

Doesn't sync with mobile Chrome

I predict that in a couple years, this will be a web staple a la Google Drive. It looks and feels completely professional-grade, while being dead simple to use. Workona makes it easy to organize and save tabs into discrete workspaces so I can return to them at any time, whether that's in a few minutes or a few months. It's a tool I didn't know I needed, and now I use it every minute of my workday. Highly recommend.

Pros:

Sleek, intuitive, increases my efficiency

Cons:

I want bookmark import!

I love workona! I finally feel like I have organization in my browser. I can keep my different projects for work separate in different workona work spaces which makes context switching a breeze. It’s been great to see this product grow and adapt to feedback in the past year. I’m a happy user and would happily pay because I’d be lost without it. Now I just need to get my coworkers on it so we can all share work spaces.

Pros:

Managing different projects in my browser is a piece of cake

Cons:

Tab switching is a little odd

I'm sticking with Toby only coz it offers a lite version that doesn't replace my new tab and a free unlimited workspaces. But I understand the later.

Pros:

Nice workflow

Cons:

Replaces new tab, need a lite version that doesn't do this

Toby offers manually curated "collections", not workspaces (which autosave the work you do in them, as well as give you a place to save every resource you need for the project), but we certainly understand if you decide to stick with Toby. It's a solid traditional tab manager. If you want to keep Product Hunt, Toby, or any other extension on your new tab instead of Workona, visit: https://workona.com/help/use-oth...

Currently using Station & Papaly to manage similar tasks. Might be a good combo of the 2?

I've been using Workona for a few months now, and it has drastically reduced the time & cognitive cost associated with context switching in my daily work. It's easier than it's ever been for me to jump right back in where I left off because all my tabs are neatly organized and stashed away. It's definitely worth a try.

Pros:

Super easy to jump back into previous workflows without keeping tabs open

Cons:

It's desktop only. I still have like 90+ open tabs on mobile :)

I am Toby user. But I find Workona more productive. Search, Project tab and Drag n Drop functions make it more exciting.

Pros:

Works really smooth on low end computers.

Cons:

Nothing such

Workona is in early stages, but it's already worth using. To everyone who has more than 5 tabs open at a given time: stop it. Use Workona instead. Have your friends stage an intervention if they must.

Pros:

Easy context-switching inside of a browser

Cons:

Weirdness around alt-tabbing on Linux

Oh my fucking god this is incredible!!! I'm loving it already!!!

Pros:

perfect for ppl who have +100 tabs open all the time lol

Cons:

no mobile version so far

This is my first review on Product Hunt. I felt like I had to spread the word: This product is simply amazing.

Pros:

Tabs remain open; clean look; fast; definitely increases productivity.

Cons:

Resource intensive (understandable: mainly because it doesn't close tabs unless you specify); No options for mobile.

This is a great tool, as a Simple Tabs Manager user in Firefox, I was looking for a similar extension for Chrome, but I expected a different behavior when switching workspaces, because every time I do it, Workona opens tabs allways in a new window.

In my opinion, there should be an option for switch workspaces in the same window you are already using.

Pros:

Tabs organised.

Cons:

Interface is a little confusing at the beginning.

I did not find any flaws.

Give it a go!

Pros:

Cons:

Tab Cache sometimes doesn't work

PeopleFocused; Software Product Leader

Nothing more to say

Pros:

Perfect solution to my problem of switching contexts

Cons:

Nothing I can think of

I've installed this before, but never got around to looking at it. But the other day when I had about 56 tabs open I felt a bit overwhelmed. Hence, I reached back to this extension. I've numbered my workspaces which helps with organisation. It's very useful and I like the suspension option. It hasn't given me trouble yet.

Pros:

The design is very clear and usable. It's simple and it helps me stay organized "resources" feature

Cons:

None yet

Would love an option to port my saved tabs from Toby to Workona :)

Pros:

Just switched from Toby to Workona. Awesome features, love that the search searches across all tabs.

Cons:

Has an open window (tab cache), which I find myself shifting to occasionally while Alt+Tab ing

Finally tab management that makes sense and is really really useful! If you always struggle with too many tabs open this is the tool to get organized and happy with your tab management. I definitely am very happy with it!
For some reason, Workona is giving me a "This site can’t be reached" error since today. Cannot access the main website either. Can I get some help? ?Maker I love using Workona. It has literally helped reduce my anxiety when it comes to closing tabs. I can trace my thought processes back on a task-by-task basis.
