Over the last year I've basically lived inside Claude Code & Codex. At some point it hit me that I had no real idea how much I was burning across all of them combined, or how that stacked up against anyone else. Token usage is quietly becoming one of the core metrics for developers — it's our cost, our compute, our output — but there was no simple way to just see it. So I built one. Run `npx whoburnedmore` and you get a full dashboard of your usage: total tokens, cost, active days, and the exact day you went hardest — pulled across every AI coding tool you use. Then it drops you onto a public leaderboard so you can see who's actually burning the most and go head-to-head with other devs. It keeps updating in the background, so the rankings stay live. I built it mostly on a whim over about a week. It's completely free and just run the one command. This project was made possible due to a lot of Open source projects so thanks to those. I'd genuinely be scared to see my actual numbers on this. One npx command and no signup makes it stupidly easy to try, which is the only reason I'd actually run it instead of just wondering. Curious if it's accurate across multiple machines or only counts whatever's local.
