I connected with music from a young age — initially it was me listening to music loudly in my room to defy my parents and then, as I got a little older, it was realizing how much I enjoyed discovering bands and then which bands influenced those bands and so on. Today, when I see live music, the connection I feel with those around me is palpable. I saw a need to bridge the gap in superficial app conversations for the millions of music lovers like myself, where music is a part of who they are — whether it be as diehard fan for a certain band, an audiophile, or someone who wants a +1 to take to concerts. There is a French word, frisson, that describes the goosebumps you get when you listen to music. There is further science that shows a link between music and a person’s mood and how music taste can drive certain personality traits. Discussing music is a way to say "tell me who you are without telling me who you are." And with Vinylly, we use your music streaming data to take it one step further In terms of the app development and in driving towards a near-perfect experience (we know we aren't there yet), we are a scrappy group with backgrounds in consumer tech and have a steady update cadence to optimize how Vinylly presents matches, using both the feedback loop from users and also machine learning. We expect to expand music service providers and marketplace versions as well as include new features that give our music community the best insights to connect. Feedback welcome!

@melissa_chan2 Hi Melissa, we really appreciate you checking out Vinylly in the Google Play Store. We are almost finished with a sprint that addresses the reported issues for the users who have been affected. We have seen a lot of positive Android app usage and our highest engagement is with Android. But we know how important reviews are and will create an in-app review notification for Android like we have for iOS, and hopefully get some positive feedback on how well the product is working for the vast majority of users.
