They say you should build what you want for youself,, so we did. Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa, ChatGPT, and Claude were all supposed to be our 'personal assistant' but basically stop at setting an alarm or playing a song. Toivo is the Finnish word for 'hope' -- since we are building the assistant we hoped we'd all have by now. What if a personal assistant could book things for you? Restaurants, campsites, flights, and even fight with your insurance company when it needed to? That was the inspiration for Toivo.ai - an AI powered personal assistant that can actually *do things* for you - starting with restaurant reservations. Travel and home services coming soon! Check it out (its free!) for booking a restaurant reservations in the US. Toivo takes your requests from 'to-do' to 'done' by navigating the web for you. Over time it'll support email and phone actions as well. If it needs more info from you to complete a reservation (like date, or your email, or even a one-time code), it'll ask. Coming soon are profile preferences and reservation history (to modify / cancel from within Toivo instead of via email). What common tasks would you like us to add next?

Pretty good apporach! i think in some point almost all services will have their own AI buttler/asistant is there a specific vertical that you guys prefer to be the best at it or you wann go horizontal in eveything booking envolved?

@rupgo Great question - we started out with common / low-stakes tasks to complete. For instance, you can cancel restaurant reservations easily if they're incorrect whereas buying insurance or booking a plumber might be harder to cancel without fees. We want to nail these straightforward use cases and incrementally expand. This stand in contrast to trying to create a visual language model or web automation framework that tries to do everything but lacks the context / samples / fine-tuning / semantic understanding to do any of them well. We believe that you'll want to a personal assistant that can do multiple things -- perhaps book a restaurant, find a great band playing that matches your tastes, and maybe even coordinate with your friends to see if they want to join. In that sense having an agentic assistant that can do these multiple things comes in handy vs. 5 tools which only have their individual purview.

@ihuzaifashoukat yep, once you've logged in, we'll use that info to cross check if you have existing reservations that may conflict, and help avoid double bookings.

@maxcompe Thanks for paying attention to our launch! You can use it for free at this point. ChatGPT doesn't actually complete tasks for you and the leap between a call to a foundation model and actually orchestrating the actions that need to occur is non-trivial. Of course, call restaurants if you want! As Anthropic's computer use (with performance @ <14.9% of completed tasks), Multi-on, Skyvern, and other attempts at web automation have shown, its non-trivial to plan, handle errors and recover, deal with captchas, fill forms, verify that the actions taken are correct. There is a lot of scaffolding to make this possible. We envision a much more complex set of coordinated actions that Toivo will be able to complete for you which will unlock even more interesting and compelling use cases!
