I couldn't be more proud to hunt Sierra DeMulder's latest poetry collection TODAY MEANS AMEN. This collection of poems explores the complexity of love, loss, family, trauma and healing. She is an incredibly powerful voice that speaks up for those that might have lost their power. Sierra and I, along with Sam Cook and Rachele Cermak founded Button Poetry. Shortly after launching the YouTube channel, Sierra's title poem went viral and has received amazing feedback from fans about how her poems touched their lives... Dear you: Whoever you are, However you got here, This is exactly where you are supposed to be. This moment has waited its whole life for you. You made it You made it You made it Here.

Congrats Sierra! When did you finally realize you were "finished" with this poetry collection? Excited for the LIVE chat. H/t @Queenleariv

@eriktorenberg Great question! This book, more than any of my previous collections, is really a reaping of several years of writing. I hadn't published anything since 2012 when the publisher (Andrews McMeel, publishers of Calvin and Hobbes--eee!) approached me. They requested a manuscript of about 50 - 60 poems with a fast deadline of a month. While I did write a lot of new material for the book, it was primarily created from preexisting poems that were waiting for a "home." Therefore, the process of writing the book involved mostly just shaping it--finding the right poems with common threads or narratives to make a well-rounded collection.
