What do you think? …

Ryan Hoover
I've seen a ton of variations of "HQ for X" but this is probably my favorite. Reminds me of old-school arcade leaderboards and cheesy reward tickets.
Jon Slimak
@rrhoover thanks Ryan! happy you like it. Old school arcade is exactly what we are going for
David S. Bennahum
@rrhoover Thanks for thinking of us, and thanks @henkholvek! πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ❀️

@rrhoover @henkholveck @dbennahum Yeah, of course I was surprised to see you guys weren't here yet!
Jon Shumate
I love this concept! The single try is so compelling.
Jon Slimak
@jonthewayne thanks Jon - it is a simple dynamic we tried and see it working well. People are practicing a bunch before playing their official run.
Garg Ankit
Fun idea. Is this not available globally?
David S. Bennahum
@graciousgarg It's only available in the USA and Canada ... for now. This is considered a "contest" because of the cash prizes, and that triggers a bunch of rules - we couldn't handle sorting them out for more than two countries to start. As things get going, we're planning on expanding to more countries over time.
Bartek K. Soltys
@graciousgarg @dbennahum Aw that's disappointing, is there anywhere we can sign up to get an email when the app is available in our country (UK for me)?
Garg Ankit
@dbennahum @barteksoltys Or maybe release a no/virtual reward version for ROW.

This is probably the best app I ever downloaded! They make brain teasing games that reward you. You get unlimited practice time, and with the extra life system they just added, you’ll have more confidence doing official runs. Download it today!

Hey @jason glad you're having fun 🌈! Thanks for the ❀️!
Colin Robinson
Very cool app! Do you build the games yourself? If not, who does? How are you planning on making money from this app?

@colin_robinson My guess is it's the same as HQ: operate off venture capital until you have big enough an audience to get brands involved.
David S. Bennahum
@colin_robinson So for now we make the games in-house using "Ready Maker" aka @getreadyio - our companion app that's an editor for kids/teens to make their own mobile games. Over time, we may expand the contests to the "maker side"- meaning we'll offer a prize system for creators that come up with cool games, which we chose to publish into the contest app. That, actually, is the origin story for "The Ready Contest": as a way to showcase games made in "Ready Maker," which has about 1 million users.
David S. Bennahum
@colin_robinson @bryantpeng Correct, Bryant- we did raise some capital, and that's the strategy we're following: get the mechanics right, build the audience, then work with sponsors once we have critical mass.
Guillaume Bardet
@colin_robinson @bryantpeng @dbennahum I know that requires a lot of hard work so big ups on that. I see how this could turn into a platform to showcase these types of games and the developers involved. Great work!
David S. Bennahum
Happ to answer any questions people have about what we're building!
