I am the publisher (co-owner of the Jan Melvil Publishing) of the original Czech edition that became an instant national bestseller in 2017 and our highest-grossing and best-rated new title ever since (rated 4.52 on Goodreads). Robert Vlach has later massively re-written the book for an international audience, adding hundreds of changes, sources, data, etc. He is not only my friend — he has always been a great inspiration for our business, and I've learned a lot from him, just as other tens of thousands of freelancers during his career did.
I don't know any other book that would offer me such a comprehensive and clear information about freelancing. It brings a variety of AHA moments in the process and when you'll find yourself on the last page, you'll know that you now have a set of skills and knowledge that would otherwise take years of searching and hard work. If you are serious about your business career, this is one of the best investments you can make for yourself.

Pros:

- comprehensive - best freelance know-how - practical - enjoyable reading

Cons:

- nothing really

Sometimes it doesn't work, but it's not the bug of this book, but mine. All recommendations must be followed in the context of everything.

Pros:

Simply - uplifting - morally or spiritually elevating

Cons:

nothing

I don't read thick books. This one is the exception. Robert's book is packed with practical tips & ideas on how to kickstart your freelancing or how to level-up (a few levels). It's years of knowledge and real-life experience of professionals in a single book. If there was just one book you could read in your life to help you be successful in business, and work-life balance or freedom → this is the book.
