Spot is the knowledge base that works with your existing tools: write bite-size documentation on the fly, backup what would otherwise be lost in Slack, and search for the knowledge scattered across Confluence, Drive, Notion, Intercom, Zendesk, Jira...
Hi Product-hunters !
Great to meet y'all 🤗 and thanks to @mwseibel and to @ycombinator for the Hunt!
I'm Raf, the CEO of Spot (https://justspot.io) and together with @ulysse_mizrahi we are super proud to announce the launch of Spot to the public. We've been working on it hard (kudos to all the team! ) and we can't wait to see what you think. We've been using it internally for a while now - and I think it's pretty neat ❤️.
Without further ado:
❓Why we decided to build Spot
💩 Documentation is always a mess. Even with the best intentions, drives and wikis always end up poorly maintained - and nobody really wants to spend time managing or adding to them. Is this page up to date ? Where should I put this document ? Ugh 😩.
💬 We resort to exchanging vital knowledge on Slack, which is lost as soon as it is written. Questions get repetitive, and nothing really sticks.
🧠 But good knowledge management is crucial, especially in the remote age, when teams are growing. We can spend up to 20% of our time searching for information, new hires need to ramp up quickly and self-serve, people leaving the company leave with their knowledge, and time-consuming projects can end up duplicated.
👀 We've seen this before. As a Product Manager at Google - I saw first hand how good (or bad 😀) information management practices can turn a team's productivity around.
💪 What Spot does for you team
📖Spot is your team's hub to document their work, backup important knowledge and search for whatever they need. It's not a wiki, it's not a drive - it's an entirely new kind of knowledge base.
💡Thought of a great idea ? Found out something new ? Want to document a bit of knowledge for posterity ? Jot it down in a Spot card, link it to a few others - and you're good to go. No hierarchies to navigate, no long pages.
🤝Spot works hand in hand with your other tools - not parallel to them. Connect them to Spot and let the magic happen. See an interesting thread on Slack ? Back it up. Perhaps even write a Card to expand on it.
🔍Spot's search is fast and smart. And it searches everywhere. Cards, but also Drive, Notion, Confluence or any tool you might already be storing important knowledge in.
🧨 Enough already - how do I get started ?
🚀Just drop us a line so we can onboard you.
🤑If you get started before July 31st, we'll offer you $300 in free credit. This will cover for 5 active users for 6 months.

Really cool concept, solving the real mess of managing knowledge, content and documentation inside an organization- love how you have reimagined the wiki.
Love this! Knowledge management and maintaining knowledge bases can be PAINFUL. Especially frustrating is lost documentation or those great ideas from a thread. I’ve found this has become particularly challenging with remote work.
Great product and best of luck to you @raf_col@ulysse_mizrahi and team!!
Congrats on your launch @raf_col & @ulysse_mizrahi!
As the first beta-tester of the product, I can attest to 2 things:
1. The speed of execution & agility of the team
2. As a Knowledge Manager, I see the pain point of having unconnected sources of information (more than that, truth) across a company, and the difficulty of maintaining all those pieces in the long run. Spot is the connective tissue for knowledge!
@ulysse_mizrahi@tmorisse love the "connective tissue for knowledge" badge from you, thanks Tom - you should be our honorary product hunter with all your feedback 🥰

Looks like a great product! Information management does really suck at most places (at least my experience) but it’s really vital - As Bill Gates said “Power comes not from knowledge kept but from knowledge shared”
@mbamar Knowledge and... coffee are definitively 2 must have! thanks for checking our product! If your company needs help pls send me an email at raf[at]justspot.io and we can discuss ;))
Really love this product! I like how easy and convenient it is just to jot down ideas and concepts into a Spot card, and instantly have it connected with the rest of the Spot knowledge base. Maintaining knowledge repositories for teams has traditionally been a difficult and cumbersome process, often times with multiple sources scattered throughout, and crucial information not always being documented. Spot has just provided a novel, easy-to-use and pretty cool way to create, organize and search ideas, documentation and information for teams.
Amazing product and congrats @raf_col, @ulysse_mizrahi and team on the launch!!
As a Knowledge Manager, I have been an early user and the product is coming a long way to fight information fragmentation. Chose to implement the solution to solve our knowledge puzzle where I work (400 employees in multiple countries). The unified search is powerful and the tagging across docs and Notion is really powerful. Looking forward to see what the team will build in the next few months
