I built SecretDrop out of a real problem I kept facing during development.
Our team was constantly sharing environment variables, API keys, and secrets over Slack, WhatsApp, and other messaging tools. It always felt unsafe — secrets would remain in chat history, logs, and screenshots forever.
I wanted something simple:
paste a secret, protect it with a password, share a short link, and ensure only the intended person can access it.
So I built SecretDrop.
It’s a minimal, secure way to share sensitive information without leaving permanent traces in chat tools.
No accounts required.
Password-protected.
Designed to be fast and frictionless.
