Before the iPod was the Lyra, my first MP3 player. Its Compact Flash card didn't hold many more tracks than your average CD, but it made me realize that electronics didn’t need to have moving parts. Songs weren’t ridges on a physical record — they had become files to be manipulated, re-organized, and synced to whichever device I wanted.
