Hey Product Hunt! I'm the solo dev behind PicBox. I had an old iPad sitting in a drawer and thought: why not turn it into a digital photo frame? But every existing app felt stuck in 2012. Basic crossfades, faces getting cropped, no ambient features. So I built PicBox. It displays your photos with Ken Burns documentary-style effects (smooth pan/zoom), smart face detection to keep people centered, and a weather/clock overlay for ambient display. Soon coming to Apple TV with full Siri Remote support — great for living room ambient display. A few things I'm proud of: - Native SwiftUI, under 10MB - No cloud dependency — uses your local photo library - No subscription. Ever. If premium features come later, it's a one-time purchase - Early adopters get it for free, no catch Built with Swift, SwiftUI, and Vision framework for face detection. Available in English and Spanish. Would love to hear your feedback!
