🧠 Overtiled – A minimalist word game with a strategic twist. 🔤 Unlimited consonants, limited vowels. ⏳ Build words before vowels run out. 💡 Longer words + rarer letters = bigger score. 🔁 Each vowel multiplies your total — use them wisely!

Hey everyone! 👋 I’m Nick, the creator of Overtiled. I built this game because I love word games, but I wanted something that felt fresh, fast, and strategic. Most word games are about time or vocabulary. Overtiled adds a new layer: resource management. You get all the consonants you want, but only a limited pool of vowels. Each word you make costs vowels, but the vowels you spend multiply your score—so every decision matters. What makes Overtiled unique is that balance between risk and reward. Do you play it safe with short words or go all-in on big words and burn through your vowels fast? I’m especially proud of how simple it is to play, but how tricky it is to master. It’s quick, clean, and feels great to play in short bursts—or obsessively for hours 😅 Would love your feedback and ideas—thanks for checking it out! 🙏

@nick_hintze Hi, I really like this kind of game, congrats for launch! As for a non-native english speaker, maybe some kind of hints are helpful😄

@unvalley fantastic suggestion! What kind of hints do you feel you need?

@nick_hintze Yeah, something like a fill-in-the-blank puzzle would be helpful it could prompt me to recall the word from memory (Even better if that process leads to learning). From an implementation perspective, I think it’s possible for the backend to generate possible words using the letters already shown. Choosing which word to use as a hint depends on the user’s level, so it’s a tricky part.

Fun little game. It's simple and intuitive! It felt a bit too long, possibly because the challenge was relatively easy, even for a non-native speaker like me. You could consider adding some extra difficulty, like - locking a vowel or putting a timer on certain consonants
