Building OpenSims started from personal frustration. Every time I traveled, I'd spend hours comparing eSIM packages across multiple vendors, different data limits, durations, prices, trying to figure out what I actually needed for my trip. The existing solutions felt like online shopping from 2010. I wondered: what if buying travel data felt like talking to a knowledgeable friend? "I'm going to Japan for a week and want to stream some videos", and getting back exactly what you need. The AI recommendation engine was the hardest part. It's not just matching keywords, it understands that "live streaming" requires more data than "checking emails," that budget travelers have different priorities than business travelers, and that someone asking in Thai should get results in Thai.
