My Pet Year

Hey everyone, I built My Pet Year because I wanted to give my cat a calendar for Christmas last year. Couldn't find anything that felt personal enough, so I made one myself. Here's what it does: you upload a photo of your pet, and we use AI to generate 12 different monthly scenes. Your pet looks like your pet, that was important to me. I tested a bunch of services and they'd make the pet look weird or generic. The AI part uses the latest image generation models. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good at keeping your pet's features while changing up the poses and backgrounds. I've been tweaking the prompts for weeks to get it right. One thing I'm proud of: it detects your hemisphere automatically. So if you're in Australia, December shows summer scenes, not snow. That took some work to get right. It also checks that you're uploading a pet photo, not a person. Had to add that after some... interesting test uploads. Most calendars are ready in about 10 minutes. Sometimes it takes longer if we're busy, but usually it's pretty fast. Built it with Next.js and Stripe. Mobile-first because most people use their phones for this stuff.
