I think we need more ad-free alternatives to other websites, too. The thing is – how do you want to make money from it (at least to cover costs)?

@busmark_w_nika we are planning to monetize through commerce, not ads so the incentives stay aligned with users
One more thing, I just signed in on the website and I noticed that AI images were used when I was asked to select interests, have you checked into that?

@akin_kevin Thanks for pointing this out, Kevin. When we set up onboarding, we missed that a few interest thumbnails were AI images. I've checked and only a handful are affected. We're swapping them out for non-AI ones.
The Pinterest import feature was what convinced me to try it. Being able to bring existing boards over without starting from scratch removes a huge barrier for switching.

@ishika_meena That was exactly the thinking behind it! Switching costs are the biggest reason people stay on Pinterest even when they're frustrated. Really glad it worked for you, hope you enjoy Moodloom!
hi hi! Your app finally got me to create an account on Product Hunt after being a longtime lurker! Love the concept, can't wait to play around with it more. Echoing what others have said, the ability to import from Pinterest is so smart.
2 quick pieces of feedback from onboarding:
1. Thumbnail for "Fitness" appears to be love letters 😅 and "DIY Projects" uses the same (see screengrab below). Guessing these are AI-generated images?

d there's a limit of 8 interests at this step. For a quick fix, it could be as simple as adjusting the subhead to call that out directly.

@mollyhepis Thanks for the detailed feedback! You're right about the 8-interest limit, we'll update the onboarding copy to make that clearer.
Also, those interests aren't AI-generated; we likely have an issue with our mapping logic that we'll investigate.

Really like the clean-feed direction and your web design.
One idea I thought could be more control over the AI content filter. For example, instead of only "hide AI-generated images," maybe users could choose different levels like "hide all AI", "show only cleary labeled AI," or "allow AI in certain categories."

@evakk Thanks Evak! Love the idea of granular levels. The "show only clearly labeled AI" tier is tricky in practice though because it relies on creators self-reporting, and a lot of AI-generated content gets posted without any disclosure. That's actually why we went the detection route instead of trusting tags. Category-level filtering is something we've thought about and could definitely see on the roadmap. Appreciate the thoughtful feedback!
Hello! I'm a big Pinterest user when looking for inspiration, especially for travel and home design, so was excited to check your product out. I agree, the ads on Pinterest have gotten out of control!
I signed up and for my recommendations I chose Interior Design, Bedroom Decor, Travel, City Breaks, Architecture and Art. I noticed right away on my feed there was a surprising amount of anime even though I didn't show any explicit interest in it. One of the first things I searched for was Tokyo Aesthetic so I figured maybe the search and my filter for 'Art' led to such volume. I interacted with other content, hit 'see fewer like this' on some of the anime images, removed Art from my recommendations, but I'm still seeing a decent amount (and the images are getting progressively suggestive..). Seemed like an odd quirk. I assume that over time if I use it more, the content will continue to curate to my activity.
As a veteran Pinterest user, the UX was immediately familiar which felt easy to navigate.
