Mendo

Stop checking Twitter, stay plugged into your community

get it

Mendo shows you the most talked-about links this week from people you follow, and pulls everything they're saying together into one thread.

We filter out ads, algorithmic content, and anything from people you don't follow.

The first version of Mendo is a daily email with the top 5 links from your Twitter community.

Enjoy!

Hey @tombrow & @burritoeveryday Can you tell us more about what you've built here? What aspect are you most proud of?

@jacqvon Hi Jacqueline! We built Mendo as a experiment to see if we could make it easier for ourselves to stay on top of the things we want to read and check out—things that people we know are talking about. I use Twitter for that, but I've found that keeping up with my feed is draining and addictive in an un-fun way. Justin rigged up a way to pull the most retweeted and comment-on links from my feed and send them to me in a daily email, including the comments that my friends made. I was really pleasantly surprised at the result, which included some interesting articles and insightful comments from my friends that I had missed altogether on Twitter. The screenshots above are of comments I appreciated from a couple of my own daily emails. Those are what got me excited about productizing this for other people to use.
