Mane AI is a native macOS app that lets you search and chat with your documents, code, images, and audio — all using local AI. Unlike cloud-based tools, everything runs on your Mac. No uploads. No accounts. No data harvesting.

What do you think? …

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built Mane AI because I was tired of cloud AI tools asking me to upload my private documents. I wanted something that just works — on my Mac, offline, with no sign-ups or data leaving my machine. The idea is simple: index your files once, then ask questions in plain English. "Find that contract from last year" or "What code handles authentication?" — Mane AI searches by meaning, not keywords. It's fully open source, runs on Ollama, and supports documents, code, images, and audio. I'd love your feedback: 1. What file types would you want supported next? 2. Any features that would make this more useful for your workflow? Happy to answer any questions. Thanks for checking it out! 🙏

Does this support an OpenAI API endpoint? I run Ollama and LM Studio on a beefier machine on my LAN/Tailnet.

@gadgetboy It doesn't support OpenAI API endpoint for now, but this is a feature am actively looking forward to add this week.

Congrats on the launch!
It sounds really interesting, and this was a pain I had in the past.

Nowadays, I've been keeping most of my files in the cloud, sometimes with a local copy.
It would be awesome if ManePaw could also connect with my Google Drive or DropBox for example.

That would be a hell of a tool. Find your files, anywhere!

@marcelo_bottoni Great feedback, i would definitely add these features in the next launch.
