Instillr is an instant camera, photo editor, and journal that gives your digital photos a touch of analog soul. Most photo apps apply filters; Instillr simulates real film chemistry. Every capture develop dynamically — reacting to temperature, time and chance — producing one-of-a-kind images with the character of real instant film. You'll actually remember you took these. Private, AI-free, and account-free. It's photography for photographers, not prompters.

Hi!
I'm Anders, creator of Instillr.
Releasing my first solo product is a bittersweet moment for me.
As a product person, AI has empowered me like nothing else. Instillr undeniably exists because of it.
But as a photographer, it is also the reason I felt the need to make an app that looks longingly back in the first place.
I am usually a tech evangelist. We have the digital age to thank for being able to write without ever running out of ink, or to fill a canvas without needing any paint. But what now that the pen no longer needs the writer, the brush no longer needs the painter? I am equally awed and terrified. I want to run in the opposite direction of AI, yet ask it where to go.
Instillr is the result of that dichotomy.
An app made largely by AI, to help me escape it. Instillr celebrates flaws, encourages personality, embraces limitations, rewards patience and doesn't always work out how you hope. Because that's what art is. I wryly like to say it has "taken my photography to the previous level", back to where I remember why I pressed the shutter in the first place: to capture the magic of a moment lived.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the app!

Instillr is a refreshing take on the 'vintage filter' trend. Instead of relying on over-the-top AI effects, it focuses on the organic, imperfect charm of analog photography. It’s perfect for turning clean digital shots into nostalgic instant photos with realistic grain and light leaks. If you love the aesthetic of a Polaroid but want the convenience of your phone, this is a must-try. Simple, tactile, and beautifully executed.
