Inflect

Rank #1 on AI Engines

Inflect is an AI Search Optimization platform that helps content get cited by AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude. Instead of optimizing for Google rankings, Inflect restructures your content to become the #1 source that AI tools reference. It automatically tracks when AI engines cite your content, links citations to your optimizations, and shows you real ROI metrics, not just promises.

What do you think? …

Jonathan Liem

Hey Product Hunt 👋

I'm Jonathan, maker of Inflect.

I built this after watching my content get buried in Google while AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity were becoming the primary way people search for information. I realized the problem wasn't my SEO, it was that I was optimizing for the wrong search engine.

Traditional SEO doesn't work for AI engines. They don't crawl pages the same way Google does. They need structured, authoritative content that answers questions directly. And most importantly, there was no way to track if it was working.

Inflect was born to fix that by:

  • Optimizing content specifically for AI engine citation (not Google rankings)

  • Automatically tracking when AI engines cite your content and when users visit from those engines

  • Linking citations back to your optimizations so you know what works

  • Showing real ROI metrics, actual citations and traffic, not just promises.

No more black box. No more guessing. Just clear visibility into how AI engines are using your content and driving real traffic.

We're in limited beta right now (free to use!) with early pricing ($59/month vs. $149/month regular) for larger plans. Would love your feedback and happy to answer any questions about AI search optimization, citation tracking, or how we're building attribution for the AI era 🙌

@latteliem This seem interesting Jonathan. I'd be keen to understand whatever you can share about the signals.

Jonathan Liem

@zolani_matebese Great question! Our signals are multiple data points we collect to identify when AI agents (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, etc.) visit your site and cite your content.

We use a multi-signal approach (combining referrer patterns, traffic behavior, query parameters, and more) rather than relying on a single method. This gives us much higher accuracy and fewer false positives. The more signals we detect, the higher the confidence level we assign to each citation.

We will also soon be launching a feature that separate between AI Crawlers and AI Traffic from actual users, so stay tuned for that!

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. How does Inflect track citations?

    • We embed a lightweight tracking script on your website that detects when visitors arrive from AI platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Claude. The script analyzes referrer URLs, user agents, query parameters, and traffic patterns to identify AI-driven citations with confidence scoring, then automatically reports them to your dashboard.

  2. How does Inflect optimize content for AI citation?

    • Inflect uses AI to restructure your content with specific signals that make AI engines recognize it as authoritative. We optimize for how AI models actually retrieve and cite information, using techniques like entity optimization, numerical density, and structured data that AI systems trust. Think of it as SEO, but optimized for the AI era.

  3. What's your long-term vision? Are you building a PageRank for citations?

    • Yes. We're building CitationRank, a PageRank-like algorithm that calculates content authority based on how often AI engines cite it. The more AI tools cite your content, the higher your authority score becomes, which helps predict future citation probability through what we call a GEO-Benchmark. This creates a network effect where the platform gets smarter as more content gets optimized and cited.

  4. How does CitationRank work?

    • CitationRank is a recursive authority algorithm inspired by PageRank. Content that gets cited by AI engines gains authority, and that authority flows through the citation graph. We track citation type, position, AI tool authority, query relevance, and temporal signals to calculate scores. As more citations flow in, the algorithm continuously refines itself to better predict which content will get cited.

Cool launch! I've been looking for a tool like this. Just a quick note, how do you actually make sure content created actually create user traffic. The concept is great in theory, but AI-Engines are like a black box and algorithms change all the time. What might work today might not work tomorrow.

Jonathan Liem

@adinlee We have a feedback loop that helps to match content directly generated on the platform to citations! For more info check out our website.

especially useful for teams who care about long-term credibility, instead of chasing traffic spikes. It pushes you to think more clearly: what question is my page really answering, and would an AI trust it enough to quote it?

Good SEO trick!

@alissa_ph_m Thank you!
