Hey everyone. I’ve been working on a project for the past few months called Habit Jungle and wanted to share the journey so far. It’s a gamified productivity platform with XP, coins, rankings, cosmetics, habit tracking, to-do lists, daily and yearly planning, a deep focus Pomodoro timer and social features like leaderboards and guilds. (sorry, that was a hard read LMAO) My friend and I started building this because we kept running into the same problem with existing apps. Most habit trackers and Pomodoro tools lock their best features behind subscriptions, and you end up juggling three different apps. One for habits. One for planning. One for focus sessions. We wanted one place where everything actually works together, and where the free tools are genuinely useful on their own. We didn’t want to punish people for trying to improve their life, so we decided to build our own solution. Some challenges so far: Making the layout look good across every screen size. Small iPhones, big tablets, ultrawide monitors. We rebuilt the dashboard more times than I want to admit. Firebase studio lag Designing an XP and coin system that feels rewarding without being exploitable. Some wins and lessons along the way: Gamification genuinely helps people stay consistent. Even small rewards like XP or coins motivated users way more than we expected. People really appreciate not being paywalled. The feedback we get the most is that everything just feels fair. Sharing progress early helped a lot. Every time we posted a mockup or asked for feedback, someone pointed out something we missed. It made the product a lot better. If anyone here has built a SaaS or a productivity tool, I’d love to hear what you think we should focus on next. Or if you’ve used apps like these before, what features matter most to you.
