@shawn_cao Can i manage my personal and business finances in one place? How easy is it to set everything up?
@rohit62661 Yes, Rohit. That is the basic setup for most of people - Personal + Business
I would say it is super easy as long as you understand the concept, most of the components come with templates to start with.
For example, this is the most common setup on Fina I have seen so far -
Personal finance cares cashflow, budgeting.
Business finance cares double-entry accounting, P&L, balance sheet reports.
Investment finance cares about real-time holdings value, investment return, etc.
Looks great, but is it US only?
@simon_moxon Thanks Simon. Currently only connecting banks in US/CA. Plan of expanding bank connections beyond is still on roadmap, for example this one https://www.fina.money/forum?disc=FF15
Does the automated categorization learn from corrections when a transaction is assigned to the wrong category?
@mikkellarsen Good point, it actually does. Internally, we called it categorization history from where Fina learns how you assign a category to transactions (name, merchant), next time, it will try to assign the most like categories when seeing similar transactions in the future, this works with AI categorization side by side automatically, transparent to end users.
How does Fina make double-entry accounting less complicated for non-accountants? Are there founders who don’t even have to deal with debits and credits but an accountant still sees the entire ledger?
Btw, Congratulations @shawn_cao and team Fina Business 🎊✌️
@aymi_malik thank you for the wishes.
AI categorization plays a big role in the user flow - when most of transactions are in the right bucket, you just need to bulk posting them to the ledger, basically most of the assignments are already correct.
And you can absolutely just invite your accountant to access your workspace to review your ledger, given it's least amount of work on the system, you can even leave the posting work to your invited accountant too.
Can founders build their own views for tracking runway and monthly expenses?
@alheri_murya Yes, Fina pages work like normal documents, we provide all types of blocks you can add to a document and configure it to display the metrics you define, you can use formula as well similar like how you build in spreadsheets.
How does the double entry accounting engine handle bank feed sync delays? is it real time or updated daily?
@joseph_collins2 It updates at least once a day by the system, definitely sync when you log in, and you have "sync" button to force syncing/updating anytime.
