An Android launcher built around pickups, not screen time. A quiet home screen shows today's task, how many times you've looked at your phone (and how many for nothing) and the six tools you actually use. Time sinks get a pause. No server, no account, no ads.

@alisrc looking at number of time I have picked my phone will definitely help avoiding as much as possible. What I would also like to measure is how many Kilo meters/miles I have scrolled, and equivalent path on map, like "you have scrolled past Paris" xD. Btw Congrats for the launch!

Loved the idea, but as a rule, Fewer avoids background accessibility services to keep battery usage low and privacy at 100%. Measuring pixels/distance requires those invasive permissions.
My goal is to catch you at the gate (the pickup) before you start the marathon! Let me know how the pickup counter feels after your first full day!
pickups instead of screen time makes a lot more sense, half my pickups are just checking nothing. any plans for iOS? I know a launcher isn't possible there, curious if you've looked at what the screen time api would let you do

@guzeradimazz No iOS plans, and the launcher restriction is only half of it. I did look at Screen Time properly.
FamilyControls + DeviceActivity + ManagedSettings give you real things: shields on apps, schedules, threshold callbacks, and a DeviceActivityReport extension that can render per-app usage, including pickup and notification counts. But that data is sealed inside the report extension by design: you can't export it, keep your own history, or put it on a widget.
So an iOS Fewer would be an app you open to look at a report, plus a blocker. The whole argument here is that the number sits where you already look, under today's task, on a home screen with nothing else on it , and that opening a time sink costs a five-second pause. None of that survives the move.
If Apple ever let a widget read your pickup count, I'd build it that afternoon.
