Doctor Droid PlayBooks help you reduce investigation time for an issue by fetching data from 20+ sources automatically after receiving an alert and appends the data in your alert on Slack, PagerDuty or MS Teams.
We started our journey into Open Source with PlayBooks 4 months ago. Since our beta releases to now having stable production releases (latest being v1.4.11), our product has come a long way to help simplify on-call investigations for engineering teams.
Today, @dipesh_mittal1 and I are glad to be launching PlayBooks on Product hunt for the community to explore the tool and give us more feedback.
PlayBooks framework can help you automate a variety of tasks:
* Auto-investigate issues / incidents from alerts
* Setup alerts on metrics with dynamic / multiple thresholds
* Save frequently used runbooks in codified manner
* Post-release continuous monitoring of critical applications
Here are a set of tasks that Doctor Droid can do automatically:
* Auto-connecting to remote servers and running commands in the terminal
* Running kubectl commands in your k8s cluster from UI
* Automatically fetch metrics from Grafana, New Relic, Datadog and evaluating it's value basis configured conditions
* Fetching Logs from Loki, Cloudwatch, GCP, Azure or querying 10+ databases
* Making a custom API call or checking status pages
Additionally, we have added rich integrations with alerting & communication tools:
* Auto-read messages from Slack, Pagerduty or your alerting source & run preliminary investigations automatically
* Send summary of investigation in Slack, MS Teams, PagerDuty or any other source.
Our vision at Doctor Droid has been to be the best friend in Production for engineers, helping them in every step!
