Finding a good CV tailoring tool for the UK job market shouldn’t be this hard. Most AI CV builders are built for the US — GPA, American spelling, unfamiliar phrasing, and formatting that doesn’t match what UK recruiters expect. DecentCV is a small tool I built after helping friends apply for jobs and repeatedly fixing US-style CV suggestions. It takes your existing CV and a job ad, then rewrites the important parts so they match UK conventions: British spelling, two-page UK style, no photo, clearer bullet points, and ATS-friendly structure. The goal isn’t to create a brand-new CV from scratch — just to make your existing one genuinely match the role you’re applying for, without sounding generic or robotic. This is still early, so I’d love feedback on what’s working and what isn’t. The whole thing started as a scratch-my-own-itch project, and I’m excited to see where it goes.
