About

Coda 1.0 is a new doc designed to grow with your ideas. It's familiar and approachable like the docs you're used to, and it comes with a new set of building blocks, so you can build docs as powerful as apps. Now available to all and it has mobile now as well :)

We're using Coda across our teams to plan projects and collaborate, and the speed at which it's spread across the company is testament to how great it is! Being able to have different types of data in one place (spreadsheets, docs, automation) makes it SO much easier to keep everything together in one place.

Pros:

Easy collaboration, multiple data types in one place, handy automation, flexible. Docs can be as simple or as complex as you like.

Cons:

The only con was using on mobile, but that's fixed now!

Founder & Head of Product @efficient.app

We have been using Coda over a year now and have used it with countless clients for documentation, and even bug reporting/feature requests for one of our clients. This has allowed us to give our clients a more collaborative view and area where they can actually submit requests and get living updates while marking bugs/features as confirmed complete once our team has finished building the enhancements. Collaboration between our team and clients are key. It's our go-to for shared documentation across clients. Use it for every client onboarding as well. It is now a core to our workflow and couldn't live without it!

Pros:

More flexible and powerful than Google Docs. Can turn it into whatever it needs to be for documentation and project collaboration.

Cons:

Missing some automation and linking of coda doc to coda doc.

I have been using Coda for a year and it evolved a lot since my first use. I really love the team and the product. Coda is very fun and powerful to use because you are in control, only your imagination can be the limit. I'm always searching new ways to make new docs just for the sake of pleasure. I'm lso constantly improving my current documents. The best thing is that it pushes me to invent new ways to think my work.

Pros:

Incredibly powerful, disruptive and fun

Cons:

No cons

My accounting team used Coda to transform the crazy mix of schedules from our clients into a comprehensible calendar. No more mix of QB, spreadsheets, calendar reminders, post-it notes and "oh, we forgot to" that has been the norm forever up to this point.

Pros:

From schedule chaos to calendared clarity.

Cons:

We're still on the honeymoon.

Coda is adding to their suite of tools to make editing and actions accessible everywhere, making it that much more valuable.

Pros:

Coda 1.0 for Mobile is a great way to edit and add to docs on the go!

Cons:

I would love to see document creation and iPad Pro support, but the current version is a great start.

I am playing around with making a conference tracker and a hike tracker

Pros:

Very powerful and flexible - great for people with a creative mind & a problem to solve. + the templates often provide the tools I need.

Cons:

The formula builders and filters within tables take some time to figure out.

wannabe vc, entrepreneur

Coda is awesome?!

Pros:

There is an organizer in all of us. I love how Coda lets us keep structured data, present different views and share effortlessly.

Cons:

Anything is possible! But you have to invest the time to learn how to do it!

I've been using it since beta. You can build several tools. It reminds me Airtable + Google Docs + some kind of magic. Try some templates and feel it.

Pros:

Easy to use. Great UX. Infinite possibilities. It's free. Yes, free!

Cons:

None.

Thinking through this was actually helpful in clarifying our process. Was great.

Pros:

We created a project mgmt tool to push projects forward, organise research, and focus our team. We replaced Excel/word/outlook.

Cons:

The more complicated your project, the more you need to “plan your doc”. It is helpful to think through what u r trying to do in advance.

Can't take any company that steals a name seriously.

Pros:

Seems a decent app.

Cons:

Shame it decided to steal its name from another successful app by Panic. No need.

Either product or UX – mostly both

I love this new type of browser based document apps, currently represented by Coda (my fav), Airtable und Notion. All three are excellent tools and I’m sure they will push each other to get better and better.

Pros:

This is magic – the next level in online documents and tables. The possibilities are endless and there are plenty of helpful templates.

Cons:

No big cons so far.
