Update: As of 2300UTC last night the plugin will no longer work on Twitter. Tweet up to 280 characters using the new Twitter cramming feature, which otherwise is only available to limited users.

Just another quick product hacked together. Twitter launched their new 280 character limit to select users last night. By messing with some front-end settings this plugin will allow you to post up to 280 characters. The extension doesn't save any data and is literally 5 lines of JS. As it all runs on the front-end, Twitter updates make break this at anytime. Other downsides: I have yet to fix the counter (so it's stuck at 140) and it's only on Chrome Desktop as an extension at present Update: As of 2300UTC last night the plugin will no longer work on Twitter. @td_evans Did twitter plug the hole already? Seems like it's not working for me now. Glad I got to get that one tweet out to abuse my power: https://twitter.com/irishpolyglo... Edit: Never mind. Removing the plugin and reinstalling it did the trick for me. All good!

@irishpolyglot I pushed an update around that time, so if this did happen to anyone else - just remove and reinstall and it should work (for the time being).

@nivo0o0 Removing then re-installing may help. It is bugging out occasionally - perhaps as Twitter update.

@td_evans @nivo0o0 I'm pretty sure there is a problem in the implementation, you patch the initial data on page load and because the Twitter code is loaded asynchronously it could read the JSON that you modify before you do it. Consider my extension that uses MutationObserver which guarantees that the experiment is enabled before Twitter reads it: https://www.producthunt.com/post...
