  • Juho SAll great roads go through PH

Twitter with 280 characters and Quora with blog posts is class examples of services forgetting their original concept

What differentiates these services now from all the rest?

    Good idea.

    Doesn't work.

I'm guessing Twitter shut it down. After all Twitter doesn't want us to have nice things. #ThanksJack

Just another quick product hacked together. Twitter launched their new 280 character limit to select users last night. By messing with some front-end settings this plugin will allow you to post up to 280 characters. The extension doesn't save any data and is literally 5 lines of JS. As it all runs on the front-end, Twitter updates make break this at anytime. Other downsides: I have yet to fix the counter (so it's stuck at 140) and it's only on Chrome Desktop as an extension at present Update: As of 2300UTC last night the plugin will no longer work on Twitter. This plugin here: will still work on Tweetdeck.

@td_evans This is marvellous! I feel so special, like I'm a part of the "small group" that twitter exclusively selected. Straight to abusing it of course 🤣

@td_evans Did twitter plug the hole already? Seems like it's not working for me now. Glad I got to get that one tweet out to abuse my power: Edit: Never mind. Removing the plugin and reinstalling it did the trick for me. All good!

@irishpolyglot I pushed an update around that time, so if this did happen to anyone else - just remove and reinstall and it should work (for the time being).

@rrhoover Not sure if I should be annoyed that the product we spent 2 weeks building ( is going to be outranked by this half-hour build!

⛔️ UPDATE: Twitter did patch this gap and now checks the experiment at the back-end, hence the extension doesn't work anymore ⛔️ When this extension will stop working for you, give a try to mine it has superior implementation: 😉

@kossnocorp Unfortunately your extension does not work either: (Chrome 61.0.3163.100)

@magnuson Twitter did patch back-end this, this vulnerability doesn't exist anymore 🤕
