I'm thrilled to launch CaptainShot today! This project started two years ago as a personal frustration—my Photos library was drowning in screenshots, and I couldn't find anything.
Why I built this:
Like many of you, I save everything: receipts, travel info, code snippets, quotes, inspiration, conversations, shopping finds, notes... My screenshot library became unusable. I wanted a solution that was intelligent but respected privacy.
How it works:
CaptainShot uses on-device AI with Apple Intelligence, CLIP, OCR, Vision, and language detection to analyze screenshots entirely on your device. Built entirely in Swift/SwiftUI, it automatically creates collections, extracts data (dates, contacts, URLs...), and lets you search using natural language—all without sending data anywhere.
