@dzmitry_stramavus - is there a recommended pattern for handling multi-language catalogs? For example, passing locale-aware strings at init time? Curious how international stores are approaching this.
Cloudimage.io
@petya_kirova great question — and yes, this comes up a lot for international stores.
Today the cleanest pattern is to pass locale-aware strings in your hotspot config at init time (titles, descriptions, CTAs), and swap the config when the user changes language. Most teams already have an i18n layer they can pipe through.
Native locale support is on our roadmap — a locale attribute that lets you define translations once and switch between them declaratively, without re-initializing.

Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm Dima, the engineer behind @cloudimage/hotspot - and honestly, this started out of frustration.
Last year I needed a modern image hotspot library for a project. The top npm results were jQuery plugins from 2017, unmaintained, inaccessible, and broken on mobile. One had an open GitHub issue from 2021 that just said "broken on mobile" - 47 thumbs up, no response. So I built a new one.
What we shipped today:
→ TypeScript-first, zero dependencies, under 10 KB gzipped
→ Zoom + pan combined with hotspot popovers (no other library does both well)
→ WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility built in — keyboard nav, ARIA labels, focus trapping, reduced-motion
→ Vanilla JS and React support
→ A no-code visual editor so content teams can place hotspots without involving a developer every time
→ Optional Cloudimage CDN integration for responsive image delivery at every zoom level
It's MIT-licensed. Free to use forever.
What it does:
Hotspot Images transforms static visuals into powerful, interactive product showcases. By placing clickable hotspots directly onto any image, you give shoppers instant access to product details, pricing, and purchase options — all without ever leaving the image they're browsing.
Customers simply tap or hover over a point of interest to reveal rich product information, and can add items to their cart in just one click.
Why it works:
Shoppers engage more deeply when they can explore products in context. Instead of hunting through category pages, they discover and buy directly from the imagery that inspired them — shortening the path to purchase and meaningfully boosting conversion rates.
Business benefits:
→ Turn any image into a fully shoppable, interactive experience
→ Reduce friction between product discovery and purchase
→ Increase time-on-page and overall engagement
→ Works beautifully across desktop and mobile
→ Easy to set up — no coding required
How to use:
The plugin comes with an intuitive visual editor that lets content teams create shoppable images without the need of developer involvement. Anyone can easily add, edit, and manage interactive areas. No more tickets every time someone wants to move a pin.
This Image Hotspots plugin can be easily implemented on any website regardless of the CMS - WordPress (including Divi and Elementor), Shopify, Webflow, or a custom built solution.
If you build product pages for furniture, fashion, or real estate, or if you've ever wasted a week building a custom hotspot solution from scratch, I'd love to hear what you think.

@dzmitry_stramavus does it work on video files, too?
Cloudimage.io
@laura_berger3 great question! @cloudimage/hotspot is optimized for static images, but we built a separate plugin specifically for video — same idea (clickable hotspots, no-code editor) but tuned for playback, timing, and frame-accurate positioning.
