This game started as a small experiment: What would happen if poker mechanics were applied to vocabulary instead of numbers? I’ve always loved competitive games, but most word games feel either educational or slow-paced. I wanted something tense, tactical, and fast — where timing matters as much as vocabulary. A few design decisions I struggled with: • Should banned letters be predictable or fully random? • How aggressive should score multipliers scale? • Is LAN multiplayer enough, or should I push toward online ranked matches? Right now Alpoker focuses on pure gameplay — no accounts required, no friction. Just open and play. I’d really love feedback on: – Which mode feels the most balanced? – Does Ban Card mode feel fair or frustrating? – Would you want global matchmaking? I built this as a language strategy game, not a learning tool. If it feels competitive rather than educational, then I did something right.
