I built Figtree because exporting styles from Figma was more annoying than it should be. Even with Dev Mode, alpha access and VS Code extension, Dev mode didn’t give me clean, reusable code. I wanted a faster way to get real design tokens like colors, text styles, shadows into my codebase without relying on plugins, copy-pasting, or clicking through menus. Most tools either give you raw code for whole components or they hide the logic behind what they’re generating. Figtree focuses on design tokens (colors, typography, effects, spacing) and you can see and edit the prompt if you're using AI: tweak it, add languages, whatever you need. It works with free Figma accounts using just a personal token. You don’t need to install anything in your Figma workspace. It's flexible, lightweight, and designed for developers who want control. We actually use this thing every day. It’s not just a weekend project, it’s part of our production workflow at my company. We integrated the Figma API, multiple AI models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek), and made it so anyone can try it instantly: no accounts, no signup walls. At most, you add an API key to an .env file. That’s it.
