👋 Hello Hunters. I'm Chace, the founder of Fluent, solo for now. Today, I'm here to share Fluent's story and vision. 💡 The Origin of Fluent It started as a small project in 2023 called SpeakAI, a simple Voice ChatBot that allowed users to practice speaking through voice conversations. The user feedback after its launch was quite positive, and it gained around 20,000 users. Because many people around the world learn English but don't have many opportunities to speak it, the Voice ChatBot undoubtedly provided this opportunity. However, at that time, I didn't have a grander vision or idea, so it stopped there without further development. 🚀 The Birth of Fluent But I always felt that AI's help in language learning shouldn't be limited to just practicing speaking. So, I later read many educational research papers and sought advice from frontline teachers. I even tried to find teachers to create a job interview course. Until the end of 2024, I realized that AI technology could already generate personalized learning content covering all knowledge points from vocabulary and grammar to speaking, and it could adjust according to the student's specific situation, being no less effective than a human teacher. Confucius said: Teach students in accordance with their aptitude. I thought, this is the future – everyone could have their own exclusive AI language teacher at a low cost, no longer limited by time, price, location, age, etc. This is Fluent's vision. 🧑‍🏫 Fluent's Personalized Learning Plan In this version, Fluent introduces a personalized learning plan: - AI will generate a completely personalized learning plan based on your goals, level, and interests. - The learning plan will include various learning formats, covering knowledge points from vocabulary to speaking skills, from a "find vocabulary error" game to a Role-play Game, striving to help you master a language efficiently while keeping it engaging. - The teaching content will be dynamically adjusted based on your learning progress, rather than being fixed. You just need to follow along. Of course, other features include: - Real-time Feedback: Not only identifies your grammar errors but also points out sentences that are not native-sounding or effective, providing you with suggestions that better fit the context. - 100+ Scenario Practices: Scenario dialogues are not just casual chats; they also include task guidance and completion prompts, allowing you to experience the fun of clearing game levels in conversations. - Review: Incorrectly used language will be generated into extended exercises to further strengthen your language skills. - Track Your Progress: Track your streak and view your learning history. ✨ What's next The current version has taken a big step forward in personalized learning, but in my vision, it's just a small step. My ultimate vision is to create an immersive language learning environment that allows you to learn new languages in the most effective, engaging, and cost-efficient way. For example, one day you will be able to learn Japanese from complete zero-base by following an AI teacher.
