I've tried dozens of AI resume and cover letter generators and all the ones I found have one or more of these shortcomings: 1. They help you write one perfect resume, like a human coach would, but you still basically submit the same resume to every job even though the requirements and qualifications are different. 2. They tweak the resume for every job, but just for ATS purposes and doesn't actually make you stand out more. 3. They don't truly analyze the job description to understand where you fit well, and more importantly, qualification/skill gaps that you have. As a result, I went ahead and wrote my own AI resume and cover letter generator with these requirements in mind: 1. Start by uploading your resume to create your base "user profile" 2. Analyze each past role and ask you questions to expand on what's already in your resume 3. Compare your user profile with the job description you're applying to and tell you exactly where you match and where you don't 4. You update your profile to "train" the AI, expanding your background info 5. Generate the best TRUTHFUL resume and cover letter based on your user profile 6. The custom resumes and cover letters are ready to "Save as PDF" and submit with your application This is the first tool out there I know of (there are probably hundreds so I can't be sure) that actually generates better resumes and cover letters over time. The more jobs you apply to and the more AI feedback you incorporate into your user profile, the better it gets.
