Hi everyone! I’m Sonya, one of the makers of Termin.
A few years ago, I started learning French, and noticed that my saved words were everywhere: in my notes app, in screenshots, in chat messages, in 20 open browser tabs. I collected plenty of words, but forgot most of them.
That’s the problem we built Termin to solve. Saving a word is only the first step. Without a system for organizing and reviewing it, it just gets forgotten.
Termin brings the whole process into one place:
- Capture: save words and phrases from lessons, travel, work, or reading
- Organize: group them into personal dictionaries by language, topic, level, or goal
- Understand: add translations, definitions, examples, synonyms, and notes
- Practice: flashcards, spelling exercises, structured tests, and adaptive practice
- Share and discover: publish or privately share dictionaries, or explore collections from Termin and other users
- Build a routine: scheduled exercises and the Termin Telegram Bot
We built it around the idea that learning a word means more than memorizing a translation. You should know what it means, how it’s used, and when to review it again.
A note on AI: we use AI-assisted tools for selected features, like suggesting definitions, examples, or synonyms. They’re meant to support your learning, not replace teachers or trusted dictionaries, and generated content can contain mistakes.
Who it’s for: independent learners, as well as teachers and tutors who want to build vocabulary collections and share them with students.
Pricing: Termin is completely free right now, with no payment method required. We plan to add an optional PRO plan with extended features and higher usage limits down the line. Before anything is paid, we’ll publish exactly what’s included, the prices, and the cancellation terms.
