👋 Hey Product Hunt! I’m Feras, the solo maker behind RecallGuard. I built RecallGuard after realizing how broken the recall experience is for ordinary families. Thousands of foods, medicines, toys, car seats and vehicles are recalled, but the notices are scattered across FDA, USDA, CPSC and NHTSA sites. Even when you hear about a recall, the first question is usually: Do I actually own the affected product? I wanted to reverse that process. Instead of asking people to constantly search recalls, RecallGuard learns what’s in their home. You can photograph a pantry shelf, scan a receipt, or add your vehicle VIN. RecallGuard then monitors official recall sources and alerts you when something may actually match. One principle shaped the entire product: never tell someone an item is “safe” when we don’t have enough information to know. If a recall depends on a lot code, manufacture date, or another detail we can’t verify, RecallGuard tells you exactly what to check and links directly to the government notice. I built this as a solo developer, and today RecallGuard is officially live.
