I wanted to build a game where writing together felt high-stakes, competitive, and hilarious. Enter Story Chain: You and your friends take turns writing ONE sentence at a time. After every turn, an LLM judge critiques and scores your line (0-100) in real-time. 🎮 Game Modes: • 💀 Sudden Death Elimination: The room tracks a running quality average. If your sentence drags the score below 50, it's deleted, and you're eliminated! Last writer standing wins. • 🏃 Marathon Mode: Fixed turns per player — highest total score takes the crown. • 🤖 Play vs AI: Practice solo against an AI opponent with real-time refereeing. ⚡️ Built 95% with AI: I built this entire project ~95% with AI agents (Next.js, Supabase Realtime, and DeepSeek/GPT-4o). From designing the zero-auth per-tab state engine to building the zero-FOUC theme switcher (Manuscript, Stage, and Editor themes), pairing with AI allowed me to ship a full multiplayer experience in record time.
