Astra changed not just how fast I could build Altifigence, but how much I could take on as a solo founder. It helped me turn a CLI-based semiconductor design tool into a web app with a graphical interface that users could access directly in their browser. By helping me build the GUI, improve web rendering performance, and connect the interface to the underlying design tools, Astra enabled me to bring the product to users sooner instead of stopping at a working CLI. The biggest shift was from asking "Can I build this feature?" to "How can I make this useful to more people?" My vision was always to make electronic design automation (EDA) more accessible to students, individual developers, and small teams. Astra helped me turn that vision into a usable product and gave me the confidence to pursue a broader scope—building not just the core technology, but the user experience around it.

Hey Product Hunt, I’m Hyun Woo, founder of Altifigence. I didn’t set out to build an EDA company. I was trying to build an AI accelerator on an FPGA. But the tools became part of the problem. License costs, setup friction, and jumping between source code, logs, and waveforms kept getting in the way of working on the design itself. So I started building the tools I wished I had. Altifigence is an AI-native platform for chip and electronics design. The idea is simple: AI should be able to work with engineering tools and their results, not just generate code. Digital Design Studio brings SystemVerilog editing, circuit visualization, and verification results into a connected workspace. CLI and MCP interfaces let AI agents participate in that workflow while keeping the results available for engineers to inspect. It started as a CLI-based tool. Moving that workflow into a graphical interface became one of the biggest bottlenecks in development, and Astra helped me work through that transition. The goal is to make hardware design more accessible to students, independent engineers, and small teams. We’re also planning hands-on semiconductor courses, with free access to the tools during the learning period. Building Altifigence: what would make browser-based chip design useful to you?

Hi everyone! I m the founder of Altifigence, an AI-native platform for chip and digital circuit design and verification.

Altifigence started as a CLI-based tool. I ve since expanded it into a browser-based workspace with a graphical interface, making it possible for people to access the tools without relying solely on the command line.

My goal is to make these tools more accessible to students, individual developers, and small teams. Getting the core technology working was one part of the challenge; turning it into something people can comfortably use has become just as important.
