Five windows pretending to be one workflow. Kit puts your editor, browser, terminal, git, email, calendar, whiteboard and an autonomous agent in one window; AI has live context across all of them. ๐ค Kit Agent: autonomous AI with per-action permission control ๐ Real browser: AI-powered summarize and extract ๐ช Stairs: chain AI + shell + HTTP + file steps ๐ Git panel: stage, commit, push visually ๐kitrules: teach the agent your conventions Open source. MIT. macOS and Linux. Extendable โค๏ธ

Hey PH ๐,
I built Kit because I was tired of the invisible tax of context switching.
Every alt-tab costs you flow. Every time you copy an error from your terminal into ChatGPT, paste a URL into Claude, or explain your codebase from scratch that's time and focus you're not getting back.
Kit is my answer. One window where your editor, browser, terminal, git, agent, email and calendar all share context.
Type /ai in the terminal and it already knows what file you have open and what docs you're reading. Give the agent a task and it works on your actual project, not a blank slate.
The agent has five tools it uses autonomously read, write, list, run and search. Before it writes a file or runs a command it shows you exactly what it's about to do and asks permission. You're always in control. Drop a .kitrules file into any project and the agent follows your conventions without being told twice.
It's not a wrapper. It's a ground up rethink of what a dev workspace looks like when AI is the nervous system not a sidebar.
Open source. MIT. macOS and Linux. Works with OpenAI and Anthropic.
Download it, break it, fork it and build on top of it. The architecture is intentionally small and easy to extend with new agent tools, new Stairs steps, new AI providers. Everything is one PR away.
