This is (afaik) the first comprehensive site to let 'normal' people understand their leases, partnership contracts, freelance agreements etc., in plain English, with little to no cost, but without neglecting important analysis. A lot of sites have overly complex fricition for providing such insights, or they aim for high-tier law-related professions. ShouldISignIt aims to offer students, regular joes and others the chance to get tips about what their contract means and how to negotiate.

Numerous times I tried myself to use AI models and other tools to improve contracts, to understand pitfalls and red flags and so on. Even for someone very tech-oriented like me I found the process very heavy on the friction of copy-paste and of reading through a lot of text.

Then one day my dad needed some advice on a contract with someone, and that was another ping pong match of revised phrasings in order to protect him and his interests.

I thought it would make a lot of sense to give people a tool that says "hey look, the contract is not terrible, but pay attention to X and Y and this is how to negotate about it or ask questions before you sign."
