wellKnell (pronounced well-nell) is a guided meditation app with no content library. Every session is generated live by AI, delivered by one of six instructors with distinct personalities. Choose your instructor, pick a meditation type, and a unique five-minute session is created just for you. Each session speaks directly to you—personally, by name—a first for meditation apps. Built to help you unplug. No notifications. No streaks. Just meditation.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋🏾
I'm Terry—a senior UX design person at Google by day, and a solo designer/developer person behind wellKnell by night.
I had the idea for this app over five years ago—but the cost of recording, storing, and maintaining an audio library made it impossible as a bootstrapped solo founder. A guided meditation app with a full library of distinct and diverse voices would have been an insurmountable task.
Then AI voice synthesis caught up. And suddenly, the economics flipped.
A bit about the build: I designed every screen in Figma and built the entire app with Claude Code over five months. Three refactors. Months of debugging. It was not a weekend vibe-coding project—but the AI tools made it possible for one person to ship something that would have otherwise required a team.
My background: Howard University and Pratt Institute grad. Start-ups to Google. Type designer, illustrator, and a design and typography professor. I've been designing digital products for over a decade, and this is the most personal thing I've ever shipped.
wellKnell is currently in open beta—download the app and you can be added to the waitlist for early access. I'm rolling people in gradually ahead of the full public launch this spring.
I'd love your feedback! If you try a session, let me know which instructor you picked—I'm genuinely curious.
