Somehow 15 minutes flies by and you leave not even sure if you said the right things. You even get anxious just trying to fill the awkward silence between you and the doctor. Then you get home. And it hits you! "Oh no. I should have mentioned the headaches started before the medication change. Or that this started because of that." It's all coming back now — clearly, effortlessly — but you're already home and the appointment is done. It's too late. I lived this firsthand with my fiancée and I hate that every time we sit in front of a doctor we spend 15+ minutes piecing together a mess of info while already not feeling well. That's when I realised the problem wasn't the data. It was the continuity. And if that's exhausting for us — two mostly healthy people — I can't imagine carrying that weight every day with diabetes, asthma, lupus… or any chronic condition where every detail between appointments actually matters. Healthcare is fragmented but life isn't — and your health is not just data or one-time visits.
