Animus Engine is a local-first AI simulation platform where NPCs develop real social lives. Characters form trust, spread rumors, hold grudges, and evolve through every interaction, all powered by Ollama running on your hardware. No API costs. No cloud. No subscriptions. Built for game masters, solo RPG players, writers, and worldbuilders who want characters that don't just respond, they remember.

Hey everyone, I'm Melih, builder of Animus Engine.
Every RPG I loved had the same problem. Play it twice and the NPCs repeat themselves. Same lines, same reactions, same world. The magic dies the moment you already know what they'll say.
I wanted to fix that. Animus Engine creates AI-powered NPCs that actually remember your interactions, form opinions about you, gossip with each other, and hold grudges. No two playthroughs feel the same because the characters are genuinely reacting and not following a script.
The whole thing runs locally on your machine through Ollama. No API costs, no cloud, no subscriptions. Right now it's a standalone simulation platform with three demo worlds to explore but game engine integration is actively in development.
The goal is for any developer to drop living, breathing NPCs into their game with minimal setup.
Early access, rough edges included. But the simulation is real and the roadmap is clear.
Would love to hear what you think. Ask me anything.
