insightea

Your personalized starting point for today’s news.

insightea is an AI-powered, personalized news intelligence app that gives you a starting point to understand the news and the world. With endless headlines and fragmented information, the challenge isn’t access, it’s knowing where to begin. insightea organizes what matters through relevance, context, and perspective, turning news from noise into understanding. We’re building a new default for engaging with information, where understanding comes before reaction and perspective grows over time.

What do you think? …

If AI can generate infinite information, the real product challenge becomes:
"How do we help humans make sense of it?"

The bottleneck is no longer content creation.
It’s cognition.

This article explores why modern news consumption feels psychologically unsustainable and why the next generation of media products must shift toward cognition-first systems.
Most news platforms today are optimized for distribution and engagement at scale.

But in an AI-saturated world, value increasingly shifts toward interpretation, helping people understand not just what is happening, but how it connects.

At insightea, we’re treating news not as content to scroll, but as a system to understand. We’re building interfaces, models, and personalization layers designed for comprehension turning fragmented information into structured intelligence.

Would love to hear how others think about the future of information, cognition, and AI-driven media.

🎉 Today we officially launched insightea.

News is the interface through which we understand the world.
From politics and economics to technology, culture, and everyday life, news is how we encounter change in real time.
The way we consume news doesn’t just reflect our preferences, it shapes how we interpret society itself.

Yet today’s news environment no longer matches that importance.
The problem isn’t a lack of information.
It’s an overload of information without context.
In feeds optimized for clicks, we often scroll unconsciously instead of understanding what actually matters.

Last September, my co-founder Taeyeun and I stepped back to examine this problem from the ground up.

We weren’t trying to patch small inconveniences, we questioned the entire experience of how people discover, choose, and make sense of news.

And one thing became clear:
People aren’t overwhelmed because there’s too little information.
They’re overwhelmed because there’s no clear starting point that tells them what matters to them today.

Over the following four months, we spoke with users across the U.S., Korea, and Canada.
What we heard repeatedly was simple: people don’t want more news, and they don’t want feeds they can’t control. They want a starting point that helps them understand the flow of the day and surfaces what’s most important to them first.

That’s where insightea begins.
Instead of endless identical scrolling feeds, we built a personalized newsroom that helps people start their day by understanding what matters most to them.

Our goal isn’t to make people read more news.
It’s to rebuild trust in how news is understood and help people create their own framework for making sense of the world.

Today’s iOS launch marks the first real step in that journey.
We’ll move fast, keep listening closely to our users, and build insightea into a space people return to every morning, a personal starting point that goes beyond consuming news and becomes a new default for understanding the world.
We’ve only just begun, and there’s still a lot to improve.
In a short time, insightea has grown into a noticeably more mature product and we’ll keep pushing it forward with more great people joining this journey.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who supported us and shared their feedback along the way.

P.S.
insightea is now available on the iOS App Store:

Woooh! Are you planning to launch on Android as well? The UX/UI seems super clean tho!

Woojin (Jay) Park

@ivebeenwantingthis Thank you, really appreciate the kind words on the UX/UI! 🙏
Yes, Android is definitely on our roadmap. We’re aiming to launch it as early as we can in Q2–Q3.

Stay tuned, and we’ll keep polishing the experience even further in the meantime.

I like the idea of “where to begin” instead of endless headlines. In early usage, what helped users most, the relevance filtering or the added context and perspective around each topic?
