My name is Tibi and I built Echo as a reading companion for myself.
The idea started when I was reading a technical book that was gifted to me by a friend. I wanted to explore the material deeper, but I ended up with multiple tabs open: PDF reader, ChatGPT, notes app. Constantly copying text between them was becoming super distracting.
I used Cursor to built a simple tool that solved my own problem: to be able to chat with my PDF file without losing the reading experience.
The architecture supports multiple LLM providers, but I'm launching with OpenAI support first. You bring your own API key, so you control costs and which model you use.
