How did you handle user acquisition for your indie app? Ads, agencies, or organic?

Hi everyone!

I m the solo maker behind Yatavi (a free travel planner app designed with zero paywalls and optional ads for full access).

Now that the app is out and running, I m at that crucial point where I need to figure out the best way to scale user acquisition and get the app known.

I wanted to ask the community about your experiences with advertising:

I replaced paywalls with an "Energy" system in my travel app. Is this a good idea?

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo dev launching my first app, Yatavi, tonight. I built it because I was frustrated that every decent travel planner charges an expensive monthly subscription just to use basic maps or add multiple stops.

I decided to make Yatavi completely free without forced paywalls. Instead, I implemented an "Energy" system (similar to mobile games). Users can access all premium features by watching a voluntary rewarded ad to refill their energy.

Since this community knows a lot about SaaS and app monetization, I d love your honest observations and feedback.
